Plastic Free July – BEES WRAP covers rather than plastic wrap

All through July I am posting ideas for reducing plastic in our lives. These are small swaps and purchases you can make that will make a big difference to the earth 🌏 and often to your hip pocket 💰 too!

A few years ago when I lived in Adelaide I was part of a bulk-food co-op. While I wasn’t yet a Mum, it was set up for and by Mums who wanted to feed their kids organic food without the hefty price tag (most of the group were stay at home mums, therefore living on one wage). At times we would order other stuff in bulk just to save money and one of those nifty things was BEES WRAP I’d never heard of it but got on board anyway and bought a set. I LOVED THEM!!!🐝

They’re easier to use if you are putting them on warm food, but it works with anything if you just use your hands for a bit of warmth. The beeswax softens just a little to create a seal. They are used similar to plastic wrap so you can use them:
🍲 over bowls of leftovers
🍞 to wrap bread
🥪 for sandwiches
🥨 as little packs of snacks
🥝 wrapping pieces of fruit
🥛 over jars of liquid

They’re easy to use 🙌🏼 reusable ♻️ plastic free 💚 and a great conversation starter at parties 🎈
In the clinic we stock wraps made by Sophie and Emily Robertson, so if you’re in the Riverland come and check them out! Otherwise head to Biome as they have the largest online selection I’ve seen. Grab yourself a set and you’ll never go back!
If you’ve used Bees Wrap before, leave a comment below and let me know what you thought!
