Want to start your day with a boost of magnesium? This is a very popular morning smoothie in our house and it happens to contain many ingredients high in magnesium. It is full of healthy ingredients including good fats in the avocado and almonds, which will keep you full all morning. Onto the recipe…
Ingredients:
- 50g almonds
- 30g baby spinach
- 50g avocado
- 100g banana
- 15g raw cacao
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 2-3 seeds medjool dates
- 100g ice
- 300mL of water or coconut water
Method:
Pop all the ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth.

Raw cacao, chia seeds and medjool dates are staples in my pantry for making a whole range of delicious goodies. You can buy them from supermarkets but I find it much cheaper to buy in bulk. Most areas have a local co-op where you can split large amonunts with other people for a fraction of the cost and you save on packaging too! In our group we use Honest to Goodness. They have minimum $500 to get wholesale prices. Their food is mostly organic and you can easily see if it’s a product of Australia too.
