Healthy Living
A healthy lifestyle can be achieved by anyone willing to make some small changes in their life. Taking notice of your body and listening to it’s signals, being proactive when it comes to making appointments, whether it be with your chiropractor, massage therapist, podiatrist or other chosen healing practitioner, can make a big difference.
A healthy functioning nervous system is the most important aspect to your health. If the nerve control to your stomach isn’t working, the healthiest, freshest, organic produce you can eat will not be utilised. If the nerve control to your leg muscle isn’t working, you can run, walk, skip and jump to get yourself fit, but eventually that leg will give out on you if that muscle isn’t helped to fully function. Children can spend hours reading with their teachers, parents, grandparents and anyone else, but if their nervous system and brain and not retaining the information or not coordinating the complex eye movements required for reading, it will always be a struggle.
Chiropractic has a unique approach that allows us to make vast changes in the nervous system, improving the function and therefore the patient’s capabilities. While we have been known in the past as ‘bone crunchers’, the spine is merely a way for us to elicit changes, as it is the spine and skull that houses and protects the nervous system and brain.

Optimal Living
Optimising your health isn’t just about getting well when you are sick, an optimal lifestyle should encompass all aspects of life. This allows us to lead a balanced life, living it to it’s fullest. One of the most important aspects of a healthy lifestyle is our diet. There is increasing evidence that our diet plays a huge role in not just our physical wellbeing, but mental and emotional as well.
A healthy lifestyle should encompass all aspects of life. This allows us to lead a balanced life, living it to its fullest. One of the most important aspects of a healthy lifestyle is our diet. There is increasing evidence that our diet plays a huge role in not just our physical well-being, but mental and emotional as well.
Latest research is also demonstrating the impact our food and diet have on our genetics, with the ability to switch on ‘good’ genes and switch off ‘bad’ genes just by changing the food we eat. This means we are not inevitably developing the health problems of our parents and grandparents just because ‘it’s in the family’. What a relief!

Sustainable Living
Part of healthy living is sustainable living. Choosing products that are good for our health should also take into consideration the health of the Earth, as everything is fundamentally connected.
Choosing products that are…
- Natural in origin
- Locally sourced
- Made from sustainable materials
- Reduce waste…
…shouldn’t be hard. In this day and age there are sustainable alternatives for almost anything.
Small changes such as:
- Buying your fruit and vegetables locally and taking them home in a re-used cardboard box
- Swapping disposable nappies for cloth nappies
- Choosing organic where possible
- Repairing broken things rather than buying new ones
This division of Santosha aims to educate people on the often unknown effects of products and processes common today, and to give examples of ways you can make your world a little more sustainable and therefore leaving the world a slightly better place for your children and theirs.
If you’re lucky enough to live in the Riverland, pop into the Santosha clinic where we stock a range of sustainable products such as reusable bags, take-away cups and straws, eco cleaning products and more!
